Desenzano Castle, medieval fortification turned artistic and cultural venue

Built in the 10th century in a position dominating the town, the castle of Desenzano today hosts exhibitions and events.

What remains of the old structure has been restored over the years and made accessible to the public. As you enter, you can experience walking on the patrol path, go down the spiral stair to admire the old cannon openings and finally access the central tower to reach the panoramic observation point, from which you will enjoy a stunning view of Lake Garda. Of equal interest are the temporary exhibitions organised from time to time in the courtyard or in the exhibit rooms, and summer performances. In the summer, the castle also hosts the outdoor cinema series.
