There is an enchanted place suspended in the waters between the Gulf of Salò and Emerald Bay. Isola del Garda is the largest island on Lake Garda. Already inhabited in the Roman Age, St. Francis of Assisi came here around 1220 according to some documents. During the 15th century, the island became an important ecclesiastic centre dedicated to meditation; it then changed ownership several times until it became the property of the Cavazza family, whose constant commitment to protecting and promoting the island has turned it into a destination for guided tours and events.
