Peatbogs, discover the monastery

Torbiere del Sebino (Sebino is an ancient name for Lake Iseo) constitute one of the most evocative and important landscapes of the Lake Iseo area. In order to respect the natural environment (birds and vegetation in particular), the area of the peat bog reserve is not accessible by bicycle,
but you can still ride around the perimeter of this beautiful area located between the lake and the vineyards of Franciacorta.
From the Provaglio-Timoline station, cycle on Via Stazione Nuova towards Provaglio d’Iseo until you reach a roundabout where you turn left. A short distance away is the complex of the monastery of San Pietro in Lamosa, a group of buildings of artistic and historical interest worthy of a stop, and
a pedestrian access to the Reserve.
The section which follows goes towards Iseo and passes under the railway, continues at the foot of Monte della Madonna and borders the eastern perimeter of the reserve. At the next big fork, turn left and go past the sports field. At the following crossroads, turn right and immediately after turn left to merge onto Via Colombera, on which you continue westwards between the Lamette area and the lake to the north, and the Lame area to the south.

At the end of Via Colombera, turn left and then immediately right at the roundabout following the direction for Cremignane. You stay on the provincial road, which is sometimes flanked by a bike lane, until you reach Timoline di Corte Franca, and here in the adjacency of the church turn left towards Provaglio (Via Roveglia).

By following Via Brescia, you are now on the Franciacorta Wine Route, which offers wide views towards lower Lake Iseo and a relaxing landscape full of tidy vineyards. Keep the same direction to cycle on Via Stazione Nuova, which takes you to the train station where you departed.
